My Idea

The Idea i have chosen to do is a Nightcore Album Box-set

Things to Include:
Album Covers, Disk covers, Box artwork, Song list (with original Artists), Booklet with the history of the Genre, The original Nightcore (Band), Posters, original music from Nightcore (Band) and Photos of the original Band.

My brief was a choice of one of the three ideas i have out of the three i decided to make a album box set for nightcore which is a sub-genre of trance, dance and techno music, the albums were split into 3 the first was the songs originally produced by the original Swedish band. i responded by getting the album design which would be a simple design for the box cover with a burning type background for the other albums for a contrast of view. I ended up at my final piece through luck with the main box cover the graphic used on the box front cover was a lucky mistake which i cant seem to replicate again.

These examples are albums that fit into a similar genre for the box set i will be making each of these albums fit into the electro/techno/dance genres which fit into the genre of album i am making which is Nightcore which is a sub-genre of dance/techno.

The Box will be given a Limited Edition because of the rising popularity of the band and genre the booklet will give an introduction to the band how they formed and what instruments they used the back of the box will tell the lyrics of all 3 of the albums. I will name the box set ATMOSKINESIS 

The first album will have all 37 songs from the 3 albums that the band produced the album will be called PYROKINESIS because the booklet will give the lyrics of the songs along with the history of the band.

The second album will be called CRYOKINESIS it will feature the first 15 songs i found that were transformed into the new NIGHTCORE genre the album will give the lyrics to the songs along with the original artists

The last album of the 3 named 

the name of the last album is ELECTROKINESIS i chose the name because the album is going to have an electric theme because of the genre is a electro/techno genre, this also shows that the genre is just starting and will keep growing.

Iconography and paraphernalia

This shows the kind of abstract styles i will be using in my final piece each fits into the names of my albums which are Pyrokinisis, Cryokinisis and Electrokinisis given the images above fire, ice and lighting are shown representing the three albums but the box is represented with the bright lights shown in the imagery 

Final Draft

The front cover has been influenced by "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd because the use of a simple design, for "Dark Side of the Moon" a prism was used for the whole cover while with my cover i have the simple for the pulse on a heart monitor which can also be linked with techno music which fits into the genre of my album seeing that it is a "Nightcore" album which is a sub-genre of Techno and Dance music meaning using the simplistic design like with "Dark Side of the Moon". I chose the artist because the simplistic design which have been able to become so popular and iconic to album covers giving me the idea for the simple design for my front cover. From looking at "Dark Side of the Moon" album cover i have learnt to use a simple design to make it stand out and give a lot of detail and insight to the album. From looking at the work used in "Dark side of the Moon" i have been able to gain the same type of look like the "Pink Floyd" album having a simple graphic but in my album.

My final draft is going to be the baseline for my final piece but because of how simple my draft is i am hoping to make it look more simple and professional to the drafts.

My Version 

This is a piece of work i have refined over time by following the same aspects of creation as the original, what needed refining in the work was they eyes and the face dimensions, in the beginning i had a lopsided face with the facial features lopsided. I felt that the piece needed more work due to the fact that the layout to most of the features were off so i decided to change the face structure and change it to as it is now. To develop the idea i thought of making a full-scale anime character but i decided to go with the head and shoulders because from what i saw of the selection of images i found is that the head is the more noticeable part of the character to illustrate.

Case Study on The Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd

This is my case study for it i analysed the cover then i went into detail on the main focus of the prism and spectrum then i did my own thoughts and how this will be represented in my final piece.

the evidence shows the albums in photoshop along with what makes up the layers so you can see whats been put onto the layers and also giving an idea to how the albums are looking and how complicated and simple they are.

Front Cover

Final Piece is the box front cover, i decide to include a back cover along with the front and back covers to the other albums which would be in the box set. This links into the techno genre because of the use of the pulse symbol seeing that the symbol is used frequently on few dance/techno albums also that the symbol is largely associated with the genre so it was a perfect match, the logo for the album came out well seeing as though it looks like a flashing multicoloured pulse, for the most part the whole album came together easily the major problem was trying to create and recreate the symbol on the front cover. what i would change would be the colour scheme on the symbol i would change it to brighter colours showing a spectrum from red to yellow. I am pleased with this as my final piece because i seems to follow the same type of deign as the Pink Floyd album "Dark Side Of The Moon".

The final piece has changed immensely from my final draft importing simpler designs and effects to give the albums each one has a different colour scheme because of the name Pyro = fire so red and orange Cryo = ice so shades of blue and Electro = lighting so yellows and the box cover showing a simple design  as sort of a homage to The Dark Side Of The Moon.
